We are so pleased to announce that we raised over $52,000 for our 20th Anniversary Ride! We more than doubled our initial goal thanks to our sponsors.

The Long Reach Long Riders are a horde of theatre technicians/motorcycle enthusiasts from around the USA, Canada and beyond. We ride to raise money for charity and have been doing so since 2004. As is the custom with all worthy theatrical undertakings, this one began life on a bar napkin, at the USITT conference in Minneapolis, 2003.

That first ride took us from Boone NC (in the snow!) to Long Beach CA in March 2004. It was supposed to be a one-time event but we had so much fun we decided to do it again the following summer. And the summer after that and the summer after…well, you get the idea.

We ride for two charities; Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Behind the Scenes charity, which provides emergency grants to entertainment industry technicians in crisis. (We also have a partnership with Actor’s Fund of Canada for our friends north of the border.) Over the last 19 years we have ridden some of the best bike roads, visited with some of the nicest people and enjoyed some of the greatest scenery the US and Canada have to offer. In that time we have raised over $1 Million for these very worthy charities.

Our age group is very broad, and generally the rider age ranges runs from the late 20’s to the early 70’s! We ride many different bikes and we do not discriminate on the basis of bike model, bike color or bike size. We poke fun at all of them. It’s a great time with great people riding for great causes.

We would like you to join us.

If you can spare the time and want to have the time of your life, please consider riding with us. You can see more detailed information about the ride, the bike requirements and how money is raised inside the website. If you don’t have the time to ride but would like to make a donation, that information is inside also. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact one of the riders.
