2014 Route

Day 0– Friday July 11th  Gathering day in Baltimore finds us meeting in Columbia, MD at the Hampton Inn just South of Baltimore. We will have pre-ride festivities including our mandatory pre-ride meeting (going over all the safety and ride stuffs you need to know) in the evening as we meet our new riders and reacquaint with old riders.

Day 1– Kickstands up at 8:45am Saturday July 12th  (Columbia, MD to Shepherdstown, WV) Finds us heading a little Northwest as we dodge interstates, toll booths and the city all together, meandering our way eventually North through Maryland wine country (sorry no partaking of the wine) and into Southern Pennsylvania.  Lunching in York, PA followed by a tour of the Harley Davidson Plant.  Then across Sothern PA and on into Shepherdstown with a dinner hosted by Welsh Sound. Day 2- Kickstands up at 8:15am Sunday July 13th  (Shepherdstown, WV to Somerset, PA )  We say goodbye to WV for the moment and head back up into PA with a visit to the Flight 93 Memorial in the morning.  After the Memorial we will wind our way around to Ligonier, PA for lunch and then enjoy some Southern PA twisties as we head for Somerset. Day 3– Kickstands up at 9:45am Monday July 14th (Somerset, PA to Morgantown, WV)  See I told ya it was only for a moment we’d be saying goodbye to West Virginia.  Today we start finding ourselves in a little more scenic area and much curvier part of the country.  Passing through Cumberland, MD and on into Deep Creek State park where we plan to lunch.  From there we get into some more challenging curves leading us into Morgantown, WV. Day-4– Kickstands up at 8:45am Tuesday July 15th (Morgantown WV to Lewisburg, WV) Today we ride into the New River Gorge Area.  Excellent scenery and some great riding.  Lunch will be a stop in Fayettsville where we’ll continue the great roads and drop intoLewisburg. Plans are being solidified for a tour and tasting at Smooth Amber Spirits Distillery. Miles : 226

Day- 5 – Kickstands up at 8:45am Wednesday July 16th (Lewisburg, WV to Richmond, VA) We head  South outta Lewisburg and right into some breath taking scenery and winding roads as we make our way east into Virginia. Heading to Appomattox and the Appomattox Court House where we will stop for lunch.  As we leave WV, we will find ourselves on less winding roads as we start working our way toward the coast. After spending some time checking out Appomattox then it is on to Richmond, VA.  Miles- 306

Day-6– Kickstands up at 9:15am Thursday July 17th (Richmond, VA to Easton, MD) South!  We head south to Virginia Beach where we pick up the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel all 17 miles of it.  With a Lunch stop planned in the middle of the Bridge (And a Great Photo Op). After Lunch we enjoy some coastal riding and head on into Easton.  Miles – 280

Day-7– Kickstands up at 9:15am Friday July 18th  (Easton, MD to Columbia, MD)  We ride North! Straight up into Delaware, Newark, DE to be exact, where we plan to stop for lunch.  Then we wind down thru beautiful scenery past the Conowingo dam and thru Gunpowder Falls. Then we head south as we start to wrap up the 11^th LRLR ride back through Maryland wine country back to Columbia, MD. Miles – 180
