Going Home Woke up to a nice foggy mist over the hotel. Today's the day I start the ride home. Goodbyes at the end of a ride are always hard and this ride is no different. But say goodbye we did and after one last gas-up together we went our separate ways. Loren, Kate, the Edelstein's and me heading for Richmond, Frank heading for Missouri and the rest off to ride the Dragon. The ride back to Richmond was mostly uneventful. 450 miles of interstate riding. (They can repave I-85 any time now. What a bumpy road that is) We did manage to find an actual truck stop style place in Marion NC for breakfast. It was the first time all ride that a server called me hon. As in..."what will ya have hon?" We made it to Richmond in good order and are staying in the same hotel that we started out in a week ago. Tomorrow the David, Brenda, Henry & Lucy fly back to the UK and I drive up to Philly. Loren and Kate fly home on Saturday. Frank left us at the I-40 split and, hopefully, is almost home. I did hear from Alice that everyone who rode the Dragon is safe. Apparently there have been some mechanical problems but I don't have details yet. And that, as they say, is that. I'll be home Friday evening and should have a wrap up for you then. Thanks Other Links: |
