The Appalachian State Head Shaving Extravaganza was a success! $4000 raised for Behind the Scenes and lots of fun was had by all.

The Long Reach Long Riders are pleased to announce that Clark Transfer is offering a $5,000.00 Challenge Grant for this year's Long Reach Long Rider charity ride. The grant, which will be divided between The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will be in place until the start of the ride in July. The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation announce their annual raffle to benefit Behind the Scenes at the USITT conference. The event will be held on March 21 at the Behind the Scenes booth (#1321) on the trade show floor of the USITT Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Long Reach Long Riders are pleased to welcome the latest additions to the roster of riders for their 2009 charity motorcycle ride. Sam and Kacey Fisher, of Fisher Theatrical in Hanover, Maryland will be joining returning veterans and the other new riders to help raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program. The Long Reach Long Riders announce the schedule and route of their 6th annual charity motorcycle ride. The 2009 trip begins in Richmond, Virginia on July 31 and ends on August 6 in Dahlonega, Georgia. A press release notes that the tour will includes "places like Cades Cove and Bear Gap," and participants will "see some of the prettiest country and ride some of the best bike roads east of the Mississippi."

NEW YORK – The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation have announced the results of their joint raffle to benefit the Behind the Scenes program at the USITT conference in Houston.

A total of $8,364 was raised during the three-day conference. When added to the Challenge Grants provided by Bigger Hammer Productions, Sapsis Rigging and Strong Entertainment Lighting, the total reached $18,364.

Teenagers! Trikes! Yikes! The Mt. Vernon Senior High School Chapter of USITT will hold its second annual "Short Reach Short Riders" Tricycle Race on Saturday, March 15, 2008.

Inspired by Bill Sapsis and the "Long Reach Long Riders", thirty-eight students and friends rode for the 2007 race in events ranging from sprints and relays to "The Enduro". The students were able to raise $2000 for The ESTA Foundation's "Behind the Scenes" charity.

The 2008 ride will begin on May 11th in Las Vegas and continue through Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Moab, Mesa Verde, Kayenta, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon before returning to Las Vegas on May 18th. Loren Schreiber, one of the founding members of the LRLR and organizer of this years' ride, noted, "The desert mountains and canyons will offer a stark contrast to the lush New England scenery we rode through last summer."
