Behind the Scenes Raffle a huge success!

The 52nd Annual USITT Conference & Expo ended on Saturday March 31st. In addition to being heralded as a great place for theatre technicians and designers to meet, network and learn, this year's USITT proved to be very fruitful indeed for Behind the Scenes.

Booth 1041 saw a constant stream of traffic, as people bought raffle tickets, t-shirts, ghost-light gobo earrings and notecards. All of the proceeds benefit technical theatre people in crisis. Nine raffle prizes were offered, and tickets were sold at a brisk pace by Long Reach Long Riders Frank "Mr. Murphy" Stewart, his lovely wife Patt, Greg "Chrome" Williams, and Alice "Sweet Tea" Neff.

At the end of the raffle, a grand total of $9,806.00 had been raised through the generosity of stagehands helping out their own, providing the safety net for others who are unable to work due to illness or injury.

The Long Reach Long Riders would like to thank the generous sponsors who donated raffle prizes, auction items and swag for the crowd during the raffle drawing: Vectorworks, JR Clancy, Musson Theatrical, Sapsis Rigging, Barbizon, Rose Brand, USITT, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Trish & Shan Ayers, Stagehands Local 1, Lee Filters/Jessie Friend, Clark Transfer, and Wenger.
