The Long Reach Long Riders reach fundraising milestone

The Long Reach Long Riders are happy to announce they've reached a fundraising milestone. With donations of more than $35,000.00 for this year's ride, the total raised since they began the ride in 2004 has now topped $200,000.00

"We're obviously thrilled," said Bill Sapsis one of the founding members of the group. "It's hard to believe that what we thought was going to be a one time event has grown into such a popular ride." Greg Williams, one of the organizers of this years' ride added, "What makes reaching this goal all the more satisfying is the fact we did it during a difficult economy."

This year's ride, their sixth, begins on July 31st in Richmond, VA and meanders through the Blue ridge and Smokey Mountains before ending in Georgia on August 7th. The riders all pay their own way on the trip so all of the money donated goes directly to the two charities; Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and the ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program.
