Randy Whitcomb

Jim "Old School" Koehler

I started in this Biz in 1979 tec'ing guitars and keyboards. Since then I've worn just about every toolbelt in in the industry. Audio, lighting, I even had a "craft service" rig for a while. For the last 7 years or so, I've been concentrating on video engineering / projection which was my major in college and I find it even more interesting and challenging than it was 35 years ago. I've been a proud member of IATSE, Local 16 for the last 10 years.

I've been back on a bike for the last 3 years and wouldn't get behind the wheel of a car for anything. I got rid of my car (SF's no place to own one... lack of parking, parking tickets, circling endlessly looking for parking... are you following the theme here?) and haven't looked back. I rode to San Diego last year and am looking forward to taking on my own beloved NorCal this summer!

I heard about LRLR last year when 3 of my fellow IATSE members were aided by "Behind the Scenes" in their times of need. I'm happy to be returning some of their generosity and hopefully "paying it forward".
